Canadian lumber production in July reached 1.9 billion board feet, down 1% from June but up 2% from July 2010. Production through seven months also was up 2%, to 13.3 bbf. British Columbia accounted for the increase, led by a 16% rise in the Southern Interior and a 10% rise on the Coast through seven months. The Northern Interior, up 1% to 3.2 bbf, accounted for half of B.C. output. B.C. accounted for 48% of total Canadian output through July. Output in Ontario gained 5% through July, but other eastern provinces declined. - 10/3/2011
